Exploring Concrete Ways to Improve the North-East Nigeria Response in 2019

In a frank discussion organised by the Nigeria INGO Forum, and moderated by Myrta Kaulard, the Head of World Food Programme (WFP) Nigeria, panelists from government, OCHA, donors and national and international civil society addressed key challenges within the north-east Nigeria response with the aim of developing concrete ways forward. The discussion focused on many areas including but not limited to coordination; community engagement; access; protection; needs and partnerships. This short report outlines the main discussion with the aim of developing key recommendations and practical action for taking forward at the Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) and Operational Humanitarian Country Team (OHCT) level. After consultation with the panelists it has been agreed that the recommendations will be agreed upon separately involving a wider range of actors including senior leadership to ensure concrete action.
