    The 18th edition of NIF 'Forum Post' newsletter highlights how the humanitarian community is supporting government-led effort to coordinate a collective humanitarian action in Borno state. In addition, with the heightened community vulnerabilities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this edition further showcases the contributions of Action Against Hunger and WaterAid in supporting communities to curtail the spread of COVID-19, and how ActionAid is working with partners to address the rising cases of sexual and gender based violence (SGBV) since the introduction of the lockdown.   • Forum Post: Nigeria INGO Forum Quarterly Newsletter – Issue 12 & 13 (October 2018 – March 2019)

    In this edition, NIF's effort in keeping international community informed of critical priorities and emerging issues in the north-east response was highlighted. From landmark dialogue between UK Secretary of State for Defence and civil society in Maiduguri to a briefing in Geneva on an overlooked protection situation in the north-east crisis. Others include how NIF and its members are working on collective solutions by setting priority areas for 2019, making progress in addressing bureaucratic challenges, calling for funding of UNHAS' critical services, among others. In addition, this edition touched on how NRC is increasing communities' resilience and DRC is working with conflict-affected communities.   • Forum Post: Nigeria INGO Forum Quarterly Newsletter – Issue 11 (July – September 2018)

    The 11th edition of NIF's "Forum Post" newsletter highlights key advocacy effort and contribution to the LCB crisis at the global level. From NIF's engagement with UK's State Secretary of Defence in London to the outcome of the Berlin conference held in Germany. Others include the efforts made in improving understanding of the upcoming elections in 2019 and prioritizing the quality and effectiveness of the north-east response.   • Forum Post: Nigeria INGO Forum Quarterly Newsletter – Issue 10 (April – June 2019)

    The 10th edition of NIF's Forum Post newsletter underline how NIF is ensuring the operational realities in north-east Nigeria continue to remain central to all global and regional agendas. Furthermore, to have a better response, NIF contributed in various capacity building efforts including Conflicts Dynamic International (CDI) facilitated training on humanitarian access and negotiation, effective communications and advocacy training for national NGOs, among others. In an effort to increase trust and strengthen relationship between INGOs and the community, NIF engages the media and the religious leaders in the north-east to address misperceptions in an open and frank way. This edition also highlighted how a rural community of 473 households in Borno state was certified free from open defaecation through ACF's efforts.   • Forum Post: Nigeria INGO Forum Quarterly Newsletter – Issue 9 (January – March 2018)

    In the 9th edition of NIF newsletter, NIF engages various media platforms and the traditional leaders in order to improve perceptions and change the narrative about INGOs. In addition, various steps were taken at all levels to elevate the critical priorities and challenges in north-east Nigeria to the global community. Within this period, a sizable number of humanitarians in deep fields were trained on critical humanitarian principles and practice. The edition also highlighted how Search for Common Ground (SFCG) is building local coalition and strengthening community engagement against human rights abuses in north-east Nigeria. This period saw the arrival of the deputy director and policy advisor, endorsement of SoGs in NIF's first annual general assembly and the election of new steering committee members.   • Forum Post: Nigeria INGO Forum Quarterly Newsletter – Issue 8 (October – December 2017)

    The 8th edition of NIF newsletter comes in a newly improved look and highlights how NIF and partners developed a Common Terminology Document setting out key language 'do's and don'ts', efforts by CSOs against the NGO bill, the training of front-line humanitarian staff in the deep fields of Borno state, high level engagements with key traditional and government agencies on regulatory challenges, among others. In addition, the contribution and achievements of four NIF members, namely ALIMA, Christian Aid, Plan International and the Nigeria Joint Response (NJR) were also highlighted. Download Newsletter
